“Reiki is love, Love is wholeness, Wholeness is balance, Balance is well being, Well being is freedom from disease”
Dr Mikao Usul (1864 – 1926)
Reiki is a Japanese word made from the terms meaning “soul, spirit” and “energy, life force”. It is a form of alternative healing based on the belief that there is an energy field surrounding our bodies.
Common day problems such as depression & anxiety arise when this energy (chakra) is blocked or imbalanced. Reiki assists to bring the chakras into alignment and balance which can restore well-being.
The practitioner does not use his or her personal energy for this but rather channels universal energy to re-energise the field around the patient.

What to expect in a Reiki Session?
Warm & cosy surrounded by teal lights & aromatherapy oils which sooth the soul
What does the session consist of?
Recipient is lying on a treatment table or sitting comfortably supported in a chair
Most commonly, Reiki is offered through light, non-invasive touch with the practitioner’s hands placed and held on a series of locations on the head and front and back of the torso.
Additional placements on the limbs can be done as needed (for example, if there is an injury or surgical scar), and some practitioners routinely do so.
What might I experience?
Most common experience is an almost immediate release of stress and a feeling of deep relaxation.
Reiki is cumulative and even people who don’t notice much the first time usually have progressively deeper experiences if they continue.
Besides the immediate experience of the Reiki, you may notice other changes that continue to unfold as the day goes on: perhaps stronger digestion, a sense of being more centred and poised and less reactive, and sleeping deeply that night.
